Director Nanni Moretti plays himself in this beloved comedy, told as three chapters from the filmmaker's diary: musing on cinema atop a Vespa, exiling himself to the Aeolian Islands to work on a new screenplay, and mourning his ailing health. Winner of the Best Director award at the 1994 Cannes Film Festival, and two David di Donatello Awards, including Best Film.
