Set amidst the iconic landscapes of modern Edinburgh, `Case Histories' brings to life Kate Atkinson's novels and the complexity of its hero, Jackson Brodie, played by Jason Isaacs. A former soldier and policeman, Brodie now comes to the rescue of the bereaved, the lost and the dysfunctional as a private detective, even as he struggles with his own past and present-day personal problems. He presents a tough-guy persona that hides a soft, deeply empathetic heart, and it's that dichotomy that forms the backbone of and enriches each story.
